We collect the following personal data when you use our service: your name and email address when you create an account; payment information processed securely by Stripe (we never store card details); usage data such as which papers you open and how many AI messages you send; and technical data such as your IP address and browser type.
We use your data to provide and improve our service; process your subscription payments; send you important account and service updates; enforce our usage limits; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
We process your data on the following legal bases: contract performance (to provide the service you signed up for); legitimate interests (to improve our service and prevent abuse); and legal obligation (to comply with UK law). Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
We share your data only with trusted third-party service providers necessary to operate our service: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Anthropic (AI responses — only your messages are sent, not your personal details), and Vercel (website hosting). All providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or tax purposes.
As a UK resident you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict processing; and data portability.
